Better but no room for complacency
Crime has fallen by nine per cent in Cumbria over the last year according to new figures published today.
The National Crime Statistics for 2008 also confirm that Cumbria Constabulary is one of the top four performing forces in the UK for crime detection rates.
The figures confirm that Cumbria is one of the safest places in the UK to live, work and visit.
But Cumbria Chief Constable added that the force will not become complacent, and will work hard to provide a quality service and make Cumbria an even safer and stronger community
